Houchin Community Blood Bank is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Quality Assurance to lead our enterprise‑wide Quality Program supporting the collection, processing, testing, and distribution of life‑saving blood products.

This executive leadership role is responsible for driving regulatory excellence, inspection readiness, and continuous quality improvement across all departments and locations.

The Director of Quality Assurance will:

• Lead regulatory, accreditation, and consignee inspections
• Oversee internal and external audit programs
• Manage deviation investigations, CAPA systems, and error‑prevention processes
• Own SOP lifecycle management and document control systems
• Oversee equipment qualification and validation programs
• Direct quality‑related training and competency assessments
• Partner with executive and operational leadership to align quality strategy with organizational goals
• Ensure compliance with FDA, AABB, CLIA, cGMP, and all applicable regulatory standards

This role maintains authority over quality systems that directly impact product integrity and patient safety.

We are seeking a quality leader who brings:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (required)
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in Quality, Compliance, or Regulatory Audit
• Extensive experience in regulated environments (blood services, laboratory, cell therapy, or healthcare)
• Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Expertise in deviation investigations and CAPA programs
• Advanced technical writing and regulatory correspondence skills
• Experience leading inspection readiness initiatives

ASQ CQA and/or SBB certification highly preferred.
