Evaluation of Emerson AMS Device Manager vs Rockwell Asset Centre for online management of HART enabled instruments:

• Document connection method to Control Logix and Compact Logix platforms from AMS Device Manager (via Spectrum Controls Connects) and Rockwell Asset Centre
• Evaluate ease of use and management of both products for:
  • instrument discovery (identify instruments on connected controller)
  • instrument management (online management via DD/DTM)
  • instrument configuration backup
  • automated instrument configuration monitoring and change detection
  • instrument inventory (with extent of information provided in inventory)
• Evaluate both products for SJVBU use: remote controllers that may not have totally reliable connections to the Asset Management server, instruments with the same tag name, instruments that don’t have HART parameters configured
• Evaluate both products for network deployment: integration of security with Windows Active Directory, requirements for licensing, requirements for collection servers and loading, requirements for client software
