The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program provides a hands-on, structured learning experience for students interested in procurement, supply chain management, and logistics within the electrical construction industry.
During this 10-week program
, you will work closely with our purchasing and project management teams to learn how we source, manage, and deliver critical materials and equipment for large-scale construction projects. You’ll gain real-world experience in vendor negotiations, inventory management, cost control, and supply chain optimization
, all while building professional skills through mentorship and networking opportunities.

Supply Chain Management, Procurement & Contract Management, Business Administration (with an operations or logistics focus), Operations Management, or Business with a quantitative focus
Key Responsibilities and Internship Benefits:
Over the course of our 10-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in sourcing materials, tools, and equipment for active electrical construction projects
- Research and qualify vendors and suppliers based on cost, quality, and lead times
- Support the negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers
- Track and manage purchase orders
, delivery schedules, and backorders to ensure timely delivery - Assist in inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and reduce waste
- Help maintain and update procurement records in ERP systems such as Spectrum and Procore
- Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure material requirements are met
- Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills
- Contribute to a LEAN project focused on improving procurement or supply chain processes, presenting findings to senior leadership at the end of the internship.

- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027
- Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2029
- We’re looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall.
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
- Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
- Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction.
- Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the entirety of the internship.
