Job SummaryAs Operations & Maintenance Technician, you will join our Operations team, reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. You will monitor the status of all plant equipment and systems continuously, respond to alarms, take corrective actions, and execute plant shutdown and start-up procedures as required. You will ensure the plant meets its generating requirements while operating safely and efficiently. Join us to drive the right power forward and make clean energy the natural choice for all.
Key Responsibilities- Have a strong working knowledge of the Contour Global Health & Safety Management System and its safe work practices (Permit to Work, Management of Change, Contractor Safety, etc.).
- Coach and mentor facility employees in proper safety behaviors, use of the Management System and participation in Health & Safety activities such as inspections and incident investigations.
- Verify job tasks are reviewed before initiating work and when changes occur.
- Ensure incidents and potential adverse events are communicated quickly to Plant leadership and Health & Safety support.
- Perform routine rounds of the facility inspecting machinery for malfunctions and failures.
- Maintain logs and records of operating conditions; report irregularities to the shift supervisor.
- Maintain safe and economical control of all facility equipment as directed.
- Start-up and secure equipment under normal and emergency situations from the DCS or the field.
- Perform water chemistry tests and control treatment chemicals within limits.
- Regenerate pressure filters, softeners, and demineralizer systems as necessary.
- Adjust equipment to maintain safe and efficient operation.
- Operate facility equipment manually if necessary.
- Perform maintenance work within individual skill level, including simple and complex tasks up to capability.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance on electrical power delivery and control devices (motor controllers, variable speed drives, UPS systems).
- Operate heavy equipment including a boom truck, forklift, flatbed pickup truck, and other utility vehicles.
- Operate the station overhead crane and perform routine and non-routine rigging work.
- Assist in implementation and upkeep of the preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory system.
- Comply with all facility environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Identify hazardous or unsafe conditions and take corrective action.
- Assist in scheduled and forced outage maintenance work, scheduling, and spare parts procurement.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor.
- Physical requirements:
standing, stair and ladder climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, wearing PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, air mask, ear protection, etc.). - Work twelve-hour rotating shifts with possibility of overtime, weekend, and holiday work.
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
- Drive on company business; maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Use the organizational framework to capture, implement, and reward improvement initiatives.
- Encourage team members to identify and initiate improvements and innovations that enhance safety, reliability, productivity, cost reduction, and quality of client service.
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of two years of operations experience.
- Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment.
- Maintenance experience in a process manufacturing or power production setting.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a power plant and related auxiliary equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with others and be self-directed.
- Proficient with common computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to perform routine maintenance on other electrical control equipment such as protective relays, voltage regulators, inverters, battery chargers, and crane controls (preferred).

Hourly Rate$25.76 – $38.64 per hour, depending on experience.
