Requisition
Salary: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
This role reports to the Production Supervisor and involves setting up and operating automated bagging and scale equipment, maintaining packaging machines, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain packaging equipment to produce high‑quality products efficiently and safely.
- Monitor the production line and adjust settings to ensure products meet company standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and report problems to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate production records and meet daily bagging quotas.
- Minimize film and carrot waste, monitor weight control, and keep equipment clean to meet sanitation guidelines.
- Check metal detector, X‑ray, and weighing devices regularly; investigate and resolve any foreign‑object alerts.
- Ensure proper bagging processes such as correct seals, code dates, graphics, and overall bag quality.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and coordinate maintenance support.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and document all relevant steps.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or one‑year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet production goals.
- Proof of reliable work history.
- Six months to one year experience operating packaging equipment in a food or manufacturing facility.
- Experience with Triangle, Pacmac, or Ishida scales and bagging machines.
- Experience with automated packaging equipment and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of the food or beverage industry.
- Bilingual ability (English/Spanish).
- Certification on bagging and scale machines through required training, including Lock‑out/Tag‑out Awareness Training.
- Ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and stairs with three‑point contact.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
- Lift, slide, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Work in hot or humid environments (up to 95°F) and cold or wet conditions (below 40°F) when required.
- 1st shift: 6:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
- Occasional Saturdays/Sundays; rotating schedules, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required.
