Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00 per hour (Temporary Assignment) | $21.00–$22.50 per hour upon successful hire with client
Start Date: Beginning of August
Legacy Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Batch Operator on behalf of a manufacturing client. This position plays a critical role in the production process by blending, processing, and preparing product batches according to established formulas and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous batching experience in a manufacturing or bottling environment and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
This is a rotating shift position
, with new hires likely starting on 1st shift before transitioning into rotation schedules as needed.
Batch Production & Processing
- Weigh and measure raw materials according to batch formulas and production records.
- Prepare and stage materials for blending, processing, and packaging operations.
- Operate blending, mixing, brewing, and processing equipment.
- Monitor temperatures, humidity levels, cycle times, and processing parameters to ensure product quality.
- Ensure consistency and quality of finished batches according to specifications.
- Set up, operate, clean, and maintain mixing, brewing, and drying equipment.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Operate Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and ensure correct setup of chemical circuits and tanks.
- Run automatic and manual CIP cycles for tanks, pipelines, valves, heat exchangers, and filling equipment.
- Perform in-process quality checks, including visual inspections and product verification.
- Maintain accurate batch records, production logs, lot numbers, and quality documentation.
- Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, or production deviations.
- Work closely with production, packaging, and quality teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Communicate delays, material shortages, and operational concerns promptly.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of batching experience in a manufacturing and/or bottling environment.
- Experience in food, beverage, or consumer product manufacturing preferred.
- Forklift experience required; ability to become company certified.
- Ability to follow SOPs, GMPs, and workplace safety requirements.
- Basic math and computer skills for production tracking and inventory management.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift, often for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, wet, and manufacturing environments.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, hot liquids, humidity, and production noise.
- Rotating shifts required; initial assignment will likely begin on first shift.
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
- Steel-toed or composite-toe safety shoes required.
- Hard hat required while working in designated production areas.
