Under the supervision of a nurse leader (CNO, Clinical Director, Supervisor, and Nurse Leader), independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient. Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients. The practice aligns with the ANA Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and the California Nurse Practice Act.

  • Creates a compassionate environment supporting caring through authentic presence, building trust, and embracing mind, body, and spirit modalities to mobilize patient strengths toward healing.
  • Collects and documents data for assigned patients according to prescribed methods.
  • Interprets assessment data to identify physiological and psychosocial risk factors, reports variances from normal parameters.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Uses education, experience, and assessment data to prioritize nursing actions.
  • Establishes nursing diagnoses, formulates care plans, and evaluates intervention effectiveness.
  • Manages rapidly changing situations, prioritizes responses, and activates emergency protocols as needed.
  • Performs nursing process with scientific principles and hospital policies, utilizing critical thinking and judgment.
  • Coordinates patient care activities with the healthcare team, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Participates in staff meetings, governance councils, and professional development activities.
  • Completes required competencies, education, and maintains current knowledge and practice standards.
  • Adheres to hospital policies, RN practice standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Monitors practices for safety and compliance, demonstrating clinical expertise in care of the patient populations served.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of nursing experience
  • Valid California RN license
  • NIHSS certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Must meet health requirements as specified by the employer

Additional certifications may be required depending on the assignment.
