Position: Vascular Access Nurse Consultant – PICC RN (Per Diem)

Overview

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer’s clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. If you are looking for a change and tired of 12 hours on your feet or rushing from patient to patient with no time to provide quality care, this would be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a Sporadic Per Diem position — ideal for nurses who want to pick up occasional cases on their schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVADs
Nurse Consultant Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care preferred
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs.
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound.
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Possess a current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
