Highlights:
Fully experienced Utilization Review Nurse II role combining utilization review and discharge planning responsibilities
Conduct in-patient admission reviews, ongoing patient care evaluations, and coordinate discharge planning with multiple hospital services
Work directly with attending physicians, payor agencies, and healthcare providers to ensure efficient resource utilization and maximize reimbursement
Opportunity to teach and train other utilization review staff and educate providers on documentation requirements
Serve as a liaison coordinating specialized testing, authorizations, and care transitions across various clinical and diagnostic services
Travel nursing assignment with competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits package
Requirements:
Valid California Registered Nurse license (active and in good standing)
Two years of acute care hospital RN experience, including at least one year on a medical/surgical unit
One year of utilization review/discharge planning experience in acute care or case management setting, OR five years of case management experience in an alternate medical setting
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior experience in California strongly preferred, ideally more than one assignment
Demonstrated experience with both utilization review and care coordination/discharge planning functions
Background in acute care, ICU, or Emergency Department settings; trauma facility experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of payor documentation requirements, governmental regulations, and reimbursement processes
Excellent communication skills for interacting tactfully with physicians, healthcare providers, and external agencies
