Location & CompensationLocation:
Bakersfield, CA
Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 USD per year
4 weekdays and 1 weekend day, core hours 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM; scheduling may be adjusted as needed to support program operations.

- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required;
Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in nursing preferred. - Associate’s degree:
Four (4) years in nursing administration required. - Bachelor’s degree:
Two (2) years in nursing administration required. - Master’s degree:
One (1) year in nursing administration required. - Prior experience as Director of Nursing in an acute psychiatric setting (skilled preferred).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required.
- Valid CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Pro‑ACT certification within 30 days of hire.
- Valid California Driver’s License; meets Agency driver eligibility criteria.
- Hire, train, and supervise nursing staff and provide direction to other program staff as needed.
- Supervise direct nursing care provided by all nursing staff, ensuring alignment with Director of Nursing standards and expectations.
- Develop and maintain service objectives, nursing practice standards, nursing policy and procedure manuals, and written job descriptions for all nursing personnel.
- Oversee physical healthcare services from primary care physicians and local emergency services.
- Provide nursing care as described in the Registered Nurse job description, as needed.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to nursing care and clinical mental health services.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely nursing care plans and documentation in the medical record.
- Coordinate and lead monthly licensed nursing meetings; participate in Organized Clinical, Clinical Department Head, and Department Head Meetings.
- Participate in the on‑call rotation; may provide coverage for direct care shifts and other shifts within licensure/certification.
24/7 inpatient involuntary high‑acute psychiatric program; 16‑bed facility for youth aged 5‑17; intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans; serves clients through admission, engagement, learning, stabilization, and linkage to resources and aftercare.
