Job Details
Location:
MFSON BA – Bakersfield, CA 93304.
Position Type:
Part‑Time.
Salary: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour.
Schedule:
Rotations available on each day of the week – 12 hours of clinical work plus 3 hours of prep time.
- Direct Patient Care
- Provide reliable, evidence‑based nursing care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team using the nursing process.
- Identify, prioritize, and assess nursing care needs for patients and families.
- Initiate and plan care conferences or programs for individuals or populations.
- Design and evaluate innovative educational programs for patients, families, and groups.
- Collect, analyze, and document data to evaluate nursing interventions.
- Nursing Practices
- Resolve issues related to patient care, communication, policies, and resources.
- Create and revise nursing protocols using evidence‑based information.
- Lead clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with nurses to develop shared decision‑making environments.
- Mentor nurses in integrating evidence into practice and developing critical thinking.
- Lead nursing research and educational activities.
- Evaluation of Clinicals Practice
- Conduct random audits of student performance and staff activities to assess education impact.
- Interpersonal Skills
- Offer direction and assistance courteously.
- Respond to complaints with attentive listening and concern.
- Convey caring through verbal and non‑verbal communication.
- Document and report educational outcomes to managers and the Education Department.
- Coaching
- Observe student performance to assess skill alignment with patient care standards.
- Assist students in identifying learning needs via individual or group consultation.
- Facilitate development of effective clinical communication and knowledge dissemination.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver education programs.
- Assess the effectiveness of inter‑agency communication and collaboration.
- Establish relationships that promote patient safety and clinical excellence.
- Consultation
- Perform and document needs assessments with outcome criteria.
- Meet regularly with specialty managers to discuss departmental needs.
- Review data for learning opportunities and create innovative care protocols.
- Research
- Analyze research findings for potential clinical impact.
- Guide staff on principles of evidence‑based practice and quality improvement.
- Promote nursing publication and research participation.
- Organization/Systems Leadership
- Consult with units to improve patient care.
- Develop pilots, evaluate initiatives, and align programs with strategic plans.
- Participate in equipment and product selection processes.
- Advance practice through professional organization involvement.
- Professional Conduct
- Maintain professional licensure, certification, and compliance with attendance policies.
- Observe dress code, grooming standards, and usage.
- Safety in the Environment of Care
- Participate in safety drills and mock codes.
- Implement infection control and safety policies.
- Management of Information
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
- Use system access codes securely and share minimum necessary information.
- Utilize data for decision‑making and effective computer system use.
- Risk Management
- Identify and communicate risk management occurrences to supervisors.
- Assist in investigating and resolving adverse events.
- Current California Registered Nurse license.
- BLS required; ACLS & PALS as required by unit of support.
- Certification in a clinical specialty preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing with advanced education in a specific area.
- Two years of nursing work experience; two years in a specialty preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to adjust schedule for patient and staff needs.
- Clinical specialty knowledge with ability to demonstrate expertise within 6months to 1year.
- Advanced practice skills to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies.
- Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Fluent English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Strong customer service skills and teamwork.
- Computer proficiency.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Compensation: $50.00 per hour for a Bachelor's degree; $55.00 per hour for a Master’s degree.
The instructor will oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students, ensuring safety protocols are followed and providing hands‑on instruction to foster learning and inquiry.
