Job DescriptionAs a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues and support treatment goals. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each referral, providing a unique career opportunity to observe diverse treatment protocols and patient challenges.
This is a Sporadic Per Diem position—ideal for nurses who want to pick up occasional cases on their schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance.
- Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation.
- Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices.
- Provide a wide range of vascular access support services, including port access, line removal, and declotting.
- Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs.
Consultants visit patients in various customer facilities and must be willing to travel and meet scheduling requirements. Part‑time (Per Diem) scheduling requires a minimum of four scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, with participation in the holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications- Registered Nurse with current license.
- American Heart BLS Certification.
- Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience placing ultrasound‑guided IVs (USGIVs) and PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound.
- Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements.
- Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites.
- Must possess a smartphone.
- Minimum of three years of acute care RN experience.
- Prior vascular access or PICC experience preferred.
Hourly Pay Range: $65 – $75 USD. Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
