Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel) in Bakersfield, California.

Start date:

August 3, 2026. Duration: 8 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,292–$2,412 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Nights, three 12‑hour shifts (3x12). Setting: hospital‑based emergency department.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver coordinated, evidence‑based nursing care for an individual patient or assigned group of patients in the ER, following established standards and the nursing process
  • Conduct rapid and thorough patient assessments, prioritize needs, develop and update care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses to therapies
  • Activate and manage emergent situations, including triage, rapid assessment, and escalation of care according to protocol; collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines
  • Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels; delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining professional judgment and accountability
  • Document care plans, progress notes, procedures, and discharge instructions in the electronic health record; ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care
  • Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy; uphold infection control practices and adapt care to meet diverse patient and family education needs
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license in California
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to work night shifts in a high‑acuity ER environment
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with a diverse care team
