American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care hospital in Bakersfield, CA, requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and an active CA RN license.

• Work in the Operating Room/Surgery unit of a 254-bed acute care hospital
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM;
  Variable/PM shift hours: 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• 13-week contract

• Active CA RN license, unrestricted and in good standing, required
• Current AHA BLS or ARC BLS certification required
• Current AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of OR/surgical nursing experience required
• Must have worked in the OR specialty within the last 3 months
• Cerner or Epic experience must be documented in employment history
• Specialty-specific skills checklist completed within the past year required
• 2 supervisory references required: one from within the past year and one from within the past two years
• Any gaps in employment of one month or longer must be documented and explained
• Candidates with any prior disciplinary action or hit on their nursing license will not be considered

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, outcome evaluation, and discharge planning
• Supervises and delegates to other nursing staff and coordinates care across disciplines
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the contract — requests exceeding this will result in automatic decline
• Local candidates are welcome to apply — local and travel pay rates are the same, with no radius restriction
• Candidates may only be submitted to one hospital within the Adventist Health system at a time
