Labor And Delivery Nurse
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in labor, delivery, and postpartum settings. Supervises and collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care, adhering to established standards and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff and support personnel effectively.
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate care continuity for postpartum patients.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Have at least two years of recent experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fetal heart monitoring and postpartum care.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
