Overview

COOK (FULL TIME) position at Compass One Healthcare. We are hiring immediately for a COOK (FULL TIME) role located at Kern Psychiatric, 718 Workman Street, Bakersfield, CA 93307. Online applications are accepted only.

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, ensures food is at the correct temperature, and is attractive and tasty; tastes all prepared food items.
• Maintains clean and safe kitchen practices; cleans kitchen after preparation and serving and stores or discards excess food per safe handling procedures.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; ensures proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed; assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies; reports maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings; maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Adheres to HACCP standards and follows company policies and procedures, including safety and proper use of protective gear.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior culinary experience in a similar role required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to work full-time with weekend and evening availability as required by the schedule.

• Pay rate: $21.00 per hour.
