The Taqueria Cashier provides friendly, speedy, and accurate service in the Taqueria department by recording and gathering customer food and beverage orders. This role operates the cash register, handles payments, balances the cash drawer, and prepares beverages while maintaining Vallarta’s high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.

Smile, greet, and provide prompt, courteous service.

Accurately record customer orders while promoting sales through suggestive selling.

Operate cash register, scale, and equipment properly.

Follow company cash handling and payment policies.

Balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift.

Maintain full knowledge of food and beverage menus.

Prepare and serve agua frescas, juices, coffee, and champurrado; ensure beverage quality throughout the day.

Clean agua fresca jars, juice machines, coffee carafes, and champurrado pots safely.

Follow health codes, food safety standards, personal hygiene, and sanitation practices.

Maintain work areas, floors, tables, and salsa bar clean and replenished.

Work safely, use equipment correctly, and report issues immediately.

Support coworkers, assist customers, and model teamwork.

Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.

Follow dress code and store policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).

Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.

Frequent repetitive use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.

Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Heaviest item: prepared agua fresca jar, 28–32 lbs., carried up to 5 feet.

Work in environments with temperature or humidity changes.

No driving, heavy machinery, uneven ground, noise, or work at heights required.

Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.

Knowledge of Taqueria menu, foods, and beverages.

Ability to count, handle money, and perform simple math accurately.

Prior cashier or restaurant/fast food experience helpful.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Basic understanding of English language.

Responsible, professional, and positive attitude.

Must be able to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Fast-paced Taqueria setting with direct customer interaction.

Exposure to perishable products, beverages, and changing conditions.

Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
