COORDINATOR IV, STUDENT AND SCHOOL SAFETY Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Safety and Security or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience and training in student and school safety desirable
- Knowledge, experience, and recognized training related to bullying and violence prevention/intervention strategies, programs, and implementation
- Knowledge, experience, and recognized training in school safety planning and procedures, including crisis preparedness, mitigation, and response, and school safety laws
4 Experience developing and conducting professional development/training
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, interpret and explain laws and procedures, evaluate data, and make decisions and recommendations
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide leadership and direction
7 Ability to work effectively and maintain positive relationships with employees, students, parents, and other individuals outside the District
- Valid California driver's license and personal car for use on District business
Administrator as assigned
SUPERVISES:Staff as assigned
JOB GOAL:To coordinate the District's student and school safety operations to establish a school environment which is emotionally and physically safe and conducive to learning, including bullying and violence prevention, intervention, and response; and site safety, emergency/disaster preparedness, and security threat procedures.
Performance Responsibilities- Coordinates District's student and school safety program, including but not limited to bullying and violence prevention, intervention, and response programs, conflict management, gang risk intervention, hate-violence motivated behavior
