Salary Range: $34.85 To $36.10 Hourly

Salary Range: $34.85 – $36.10 per hour

Hiring Bonus: $3,000

• Perform major and minor engine repairs and accessories.
• Respond to road calls and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct detailed inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, remove and repair engines.
• Remove and replace transmissions and brakes.
• Repair, mount, and dismount tires.
• Repair and replace hydraulic hoses.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports.
• Follow all safety procedures and policies.

• Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs, including safety practices and procedures.
• Working knowledge of:
  • Mechanical design and fabrication.
  • Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.
• Skill in:
  • Use of power and hand tools.
  • Use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Acetylene and electric arc welding.
  • Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to:
  • Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Diagnose problems and make repairs in the field.
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Minimum of 5 years experience on heavy‑duty diesel and gasoline truck repair.
• Valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record, required.

• Must be able to lift and pull 75 lbs.
• Physical demands include bending, lifting, reaching, climbing, and standing.

• Exposure to outdoor weather (heat, cold, rain, wind).
• Exposure to moderate levels of noise and dust.
• Exposure to working on slippery conditions and cramped positions.
• Work performed around vibrations, moving objects, noise, dirt, dust, chemicals, fuels including diesel, gasoline, and various natural gases.

All newly hired Mechanic 1 or 2 in qualifying roles. Must be actively employed at each bonus milestone.

• $1,000 paid after 90 workdays of employment.
• $1,000 paid after 6 months of employment.
• $1,000 paid after 12 months of employment.
