The Water Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Bakersfield, CA, responsible for supporting water damage mitigation and restoration projects. Day-to-day tasks include assessing water damage, setting up and monitoring extraction, drying, and dehumidification equipment, and assisting with water and wastewater handling in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines. The role involves documenting work performed, maintaining tools and equipment, and communicating job status and safety concerns to supervisors, teammates, and customers.
The Water Technician collaborates closely with the restoration team to ensure efficient project completion, maintains clean and organized work areas, and follows company standards and regulatory requirements throughout all phases of the job.
- Candidates should possess skills in water-related operations, including Water Damage assessment, Water Treatment, and basic Wastewater Treatment practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Maintenance, including setup, operation, monitoring, and routine care of drying and extraction equipment.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for interacting with team members, supervisors, and customers, and for documenting work clearly.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations, ability to perform physically demanding tasks, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred, and relevant certifications (e.g., IICRC Water Damage Restoration) are a plus.
