Industrial Electrician
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, including conduit runs, power distribution, controls, and automation equipment. You will work on a variety of industrial and commercial projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical installations while supporting ongoing operations and plant growth.
Responsibilities:
- Install and run general conduit systems ranging from 1/2" to 2", including EMT, PVC coated (Ocal), stainless steel, and other applicable conduit types.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend conduit accurately to specifications and schematics, ensuring clean, professional, and code-compliant installations.
- Pull, route, and terminate electrical wiring for 24V, 120V, and 480V systems in industrial environments.
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot control and automation systems, including control panels, terminations, and related components.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams to complete installations and repairs.
- Install and assemble cable tray systems, including layout, mounting, and securing of tray and associated supports.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot switch gear and power distribution equipment such as PDPs, MCCs, and distribution panels.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely to perform installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Operate man lifts and other access equipment to perform work at heights in a safe and controlled manner.
- Support low-voltage installations and ensure proper integration with higher-voltage systems where required.
- Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and local electrical codes while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with project teams and other trades to complete construction, installation, and maintenance projects on schedule.
- Travel to various job sites within California during the work week and complete assigned tasks, including overtime as needed.
Essential
Skills:
- At least 3 years of industrial electrician experience in an industrial or heavy commercial environment.
- Proven ability to install and run conduit from 1/2" to 2", including EMT, PVC coated (Ocal), and stainless steel conduit.
- Hands-on experience with conduit bending, including use of hand benders and other bending tools.
- Strong understanding of 24V, 120V, and 480V electrical systems and their applications in industrial settings.
- Practical experience with electrical wiring, including pulling, routing, and terminating conductors.
- Working knowledge of industrial controls, automation systems, and terminations.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting switch gear such as power distribution panels (PDP), motor control centers (MCC), and distribution panels (DP).
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for industrial electrical systems, including low-voltage circuits.
- Experience installing cable tray systems in industrial or commercial facilities.
- Proficiency with common electrical hand tools and power tools used in construction and maintenance.
- Experience operating man lifts and working safely at heights.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Willingness to travel within California during the work week.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
