Job Requirements and Duties

You must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record that meets company standards, and have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery. You should have navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within a designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings.

Qualifications
  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Complete orientation and training on the job.
  • Demonstrate communication skills – accurate written and verbal instructions, etc.
  • Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately and quickly, including making correct monetary change.
  • Show motor coordination and the ability to enter orders using a computer or touch screen.
Work Conditions

Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when transporting goods and performing outside tasks.

In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.

Exposure to fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust.

Cramped quarters, hot surfaces/tools from ovens up to 500°F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Sensing

Talking and hearing on the telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

Temperaments

Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing (most tasks).
  • Walking (short distances for short durations on ceramic tile and linoleum; surfaces include brick with linoleum).
  • Sitting (paperwork normally completed at a desk or table).
  • Lifting (bulk product deliveries – cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 lb).
  • Carrying (large cans, pizza sauce, trays of pizza dough weighing approximately 12 lb each).
  • Pushing (trays on dollies – force up to 7.5 lb required).
  • Pulling, climbing stairs or ladders infrequently.

Stooping/Bending

Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station – durations of 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously during the day. Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients. Crouching/squatting is performed occasionally for stocking shelves and cleaning low areas. Workers reach continuously (up, down, forward) – above 72 in when turning oven controls, changing price signs, and lifting objects to/from shelves, or down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes.
