Job Summary

The Business and Capital Coordinator provides professional and technical support for the coordination and implementation of projects within the Business and Capital Department, including capital improvement initiatives, infrastructure projects, economic development activities, and grant-funded programs. The position coordinates project activities, tracks schedules, budgets, contracts, and deliverables, maintains project documentation, conducts research, and prepares reports and presentations to support departmental objectives.

Working collaboratively with the Finance Department and other City departments, the Coordinator supports financial tracking, grant coordination, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to City policies and applicable funding requirements. The position facilitates communication among internal and external stakeholders and promotes efficient project execution through effective coordination, documentation, and continuous process improvement, contributing to the City s commitment to accountability, transparency, and operational excellence.

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Urban Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • One (1) year of experience in project coordination, program administration, grants management, capital projects, or a related field.
  • A valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Qualified applicants will demonstrate experience coordinating projects, managing timelines and deliverables, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and supporting capital improvement, grant, or program initiatives. Experience that is primarily limited to accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, or data analysis may not meet the minimum experience requirements for this position.
