Position: Training Specialist 3 - Senior Instructional Designer

Senior Instructional Designer

In this job, play a key role in the strategic direction of the HR Enterprise Learning & Development group (ELD) to ensure that the client workforce between EL&D and OU partners possesses the knowledge and skills required to work in accordance with corporate and regulatory compliance requirements. As a Senior Instructional Designer, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions, and create cleaner air for everyone.

Lead the development of learning programs using proven s, practices, and methodologies. Consult with senior leaders and training delivery partners to close knowledge and skill gaps within the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and align learning projects to strategic initiatives and departmental goals. Build and manage productive relationships with internal groups and OU stakeholders.

The essentials:

Five years of experience with instructional design, graphic design, and/or learning technology. Analyze, design, and develop new training curricula, participant guides, job aids, and assessments that are complex in nature. May conduct job task analysis and Train the Trainer sessions. Maintain/revise existing curricula and learning assets (including assessments). Work with internal clients and subject matter experts to determine program and learning objectives.

Will design and develop learning assets.

Required Skills/Attributes:

Must possess strong analytical and project management skills and have great attention to detail. May work as part of a larger project team and work with multiple stakeholders. Will develop training design documents. Must have a working proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and e-learning software. Must have at least five years of experience developing learning assets.

Desired Skills/Attributes:

Prefer candidate with experience developing craft training content or maintaining complex technical curricula.

The preferred:

Bachelor's degree in instructional design, graphic design, instructional technology, or equivalent work experience. Experience applying adult learning theory, including measuring outcomes of learning. Experience managing complex technical curriculum maintenance and/or programs. Experience developing technical training for new and existing employees. Analytical and project management skills and great attention to detail. Experience consulting with stakeholders to understand performance and skill gaps, determine learning solutions, and link to goals.

Experience managing client relationships. Experience leading teams.
