TITLE/LOCATION

Manufacturing Engineering Trainee – Baldwin Park, CA

Essential Functions Of The Job
  • Provide hands on support to build/repair existing equipment.
  • Conduct time studies and use data to design and implement new test equipment.
  • Create detail itemized drawings and create/maintain bills of materials (BOM) for product manufacturing, marketing, and purchasing, as well as support production and fabrication documents through IBM systems.
  • Create detail part drawings such as 3D models for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing.
  • Analyze cycle times to improve costing, streamline process flow, and identify bottlenecks.
  • Provide support to manufacturing engineers in other areas such as new product design and development.
  • Conduct root cause analysis investigations.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documents and work very closely with production on all engineering updates.
  • Create, revise, and maintain production and procurement documents to produce parts and components per design specifications and quality standards.
  • Support quality assurance by documenting FA or testing results.
  • Confirm most current drawing revisions on production documents and update on a regular basis.
  • Maintain libraries of CAD models, manufacturing prints, CNC programs.
  • Occasionally operate CNC machines to support manufacturing.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience
  • Experience in a variety of manufacturing processes (preferred)
  • Experience with milling, turning, and/or grinding aerospace materials (preferred)
  • Experience in working with aluminum, Inconel, titanium, stainless steel and aerospace superalloys (preferred)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong proficiency with Solid Works modeling of parts, assemblies, and drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and coordinating skills

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be a U.S. Person which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders], U.S. National, Refugee, or Asylee.

Salary Range: $75,000 annually.
