Roll Forming Machine Operator

Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry, is seeking a Roll Forming Machine Operator to work in our Production Line. (TEMP to HIRE.) Must be dependable, mechanical, able to read dimensions and use a tape measure.

Position Overview:

The Roll Forming Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining roll forming equipment used in the production of commercial roll-up door components. This includes handling steel coils, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring product quality through inspection and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor roll forming machines to fabricate sheet metal components.
  • Use a hoist or crane to safely load and unload steel coils into the machine.
  • Make routine machine adjustments and perform basic maintenance.
  • Read and interpret work orders, part drawings, and specifications.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and visual checks.
  • Document production data, coil usage, part counts, inspection results, and downtime.
  • Maintain organized records for traceability and audits.
  • Follow safety policies including lockout/tagout and proper material handling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and support improvements.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience operating roll forming or similar metal fabrication machinery preferred.
  • Experience using hoists or cranes to handle steel coils (training/certification a plus).
  • Knowledge of 18-to-24-gauge sheet metal properties and safe handling practices.
  • Ability to read production drawings and use basic measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and documentation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.

Work schedule:

6:00AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday, (Opportunities for Overtime.)
