Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Installation Technician
Key Responsibilities
- The team is seeking a third maintenance technician to support manufacturing operations and facility equipment.
- The role is highly hands‑on and focused on maintaining vacuum chambers, vacuum systems, HVAC‑related equipment, compressors, pumps, cooling water systems, and general production support equipment.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on vacuum chambers and production equipment.
- Monitor and maintain compressors, dryers, pumps, and related systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, leaks, pressure problems, and system failures.
- Install, repair, and replace tubing, fittings, valves, pumps, and water lines.
- Ensure chambers are properly sealed and operating within specifications.
- Build and assemble simple custom fixtures, racks, tables, and support structures.
- Work with glove boxes and perform maintenance tasks using tools through glove ports.
- Support custom manufacturing projects requiring mechanical assembly and fabrication.
- Handle and learn proper procedures for sensitive materials such as lithium.
- Perform basic soldering and occasional light welding tasks.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of vacuum chambers and manufacturing equipment.
- Monitoring compressor and dryer performance.
- Repairing leaks, replacing components, and performing preventative maintenance.
- Installing tubing and connections for gas and process systems.
- Supporting equipment upgrades and custom manufacturing projects.
- Frequent hands‑on mechanical work using common tools.
- Schedule:
40 hours/week with possible overtime for business needs or emergencies
- High school diploma acceptable with strong relevant experience.
- 2-4+ years of relevant maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on maintenance experience.
- Experience with:
- Vacuum systems and vacuum chambers
- Pumps and pump maintenance
- HVAC systems
- Tubing and fittings
- Cooling water lines
- General troubleshooting and equipment repair
- Ability to diagnose equipment and system issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong hands‑on mechanical abilities.
- Confidence working with tubing, fittings, pumps, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to cut, install, and route tubing correctly.
- Troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn.
- Comfort working independently while collaborating with the team.
- Maintenance experience in vacuum systems, HVAC/refrigeration, compressors, pumps, tubing installation, and general mechanical troubleshooting
- Refrigeration, boiler, chiller, or HVAC technician background.
- Soldering experience.
- Ability to read and follow simple wiring diagrams.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience fabricating simple mechanical assemblies and fixtures.
- Experience with soldering, light welding, and basic electrical work
