School Guidance Counselor - Probationary

Reports To:

High School Administration

• Has an understanding of the needs of a diverse population,
• Willing to familiarize themselves with the implementation of the scheduling process,
• Is able to effectively intervene with at-risk students academically and socially,
• Participate in special education conferences: CSE, CST, and Section 504,
• Has a working knowledge of the college application process, including the Common Application
• Has familiarity with Naviance and Eschool
• Familiarity with N.Y.S. graduation requirements and Regents' requirements
• Familiar with academic, social-emotional and career counseling
• Communicate with parents and appropriate professional staff to discuss student needs and progress,
• Has strong interpersonal communication skills with parents, students, teachers and administrators,
• Collaborates with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment,
• Other duties as assigned by the principal and/ or supervising administrator.
