Assistant Site Manager – Recycling & Shipping Operations

Full-Time - Hourly
Responsibilities- Lead and operate baler operations to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production.
- Coordinate material flow to and from the baler to minimize downtime.
- Oversee baling and staging of scrap metal, cardboard, and other recyclable materials for shipment.
- Maintain equipment including but not limited to baler and forklifts.
- Support special projects or alternate duties when baling demand is reduced.
- Manage inbound and outbound material movements at HQ.
- Coordinate truck staging, traffic flow, loading readiness, and shipment schedules.
- Communicate effectively with scale operators, drivers, and management.
- Supervise and lead a team of employees.
- Assign daily tasks, set priorities, and monitor productivity.
- Serve as the go-to leader on-site for baling and shipping operations.
- Enforce safety standards, housekeeping, and operational best practices.
- Train and support team members to meet performance expectations.
- Utilize Scrap Right for material tracking, inventory management, and transaction processing.
- Accurately operate floor scales and truck scales.
- Track inventory, finished goods, and material movement.
- Maintain accurate records and report discrepancies to management.
- Experience in recycling, scrap, warehouse, yard operations, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments is preferred.
- Prior baler or heavy-equipment experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with scale operations and inventory systems (Scrap Right experience a plus).
- Proven ability to supervise a team while remaining hands-on.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Forklift certified or willing to get certified and learn other equipment as needed.
- CDL Class A license, or the ability and willingness to obtain.
