Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an
Interim Nurse Manager, L&D
for a W2 Contract position based in Baldwin, CA.

Schedule

Full Time, 5x8s. This position requires working 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM for approximately 90% of shifts. Occasional participation in daytime meetings may be required, with flexibility to adjust the schedule to allow for a break between shifts. Expected to work every third weekend on-site.

Assignment Duration

13 Weeks (possibility of extending)

Compensation

This position offers a daily rate of $685 to $700 which equates to $3,425 to $3,500 per week (based on a 5-day / 40-hour workweek)

Per Diems:
Lodging: $191 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day

Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,939 per week

Auto Stipend: $25 per day

Stipend is paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $175 per week

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems + Stipend): Between $5,539 to $5,614 per week

Summary

Manages 24‑hour departments providing patient care services. Ensures staff provide high quality, accessible, cost‑effective care, and patient focused services to members across the continuum, which comply with local, state, and federal requirements. Develops and maintains clinical standards of care and practice; responsible for all resource budgeting, selection and development.

Essential Functions

Manages the operations of 24‑hour departments that may be at multiple locations.

Ensures Assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, the Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.

Establishes, implements, and maintains patient care and service standards to meet members and internal clients expectations.

Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.

Develops and monitors budgets for the appropriate use of human and material resources.

Monitors financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.

Determines the appropriate staff mix for department and develops processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff. Ensures on‑going staff development.

Develops, implements, and monitors departmental policy and procedures which support the organizations goals and business objectives and ensures they are met.

Oversees and develops standards of care and standards of practice, directs fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.

Manages and resolves human resource, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.

Qualifications

BSN or BA in health care related field strongly preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Masters degree preferred.

BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, Advanced Fetal Monitoring required.

Recent Labor & Delivery clinical experience within the past three years, primarily supporting the L&D department required.

Prior experience in a supervisory capacity required.
