Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale Advanced Technology, Semiconductor, Cleanroom, and Mission Critical construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all phases of construction, from preconstruction and procurement through project closeout, while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP systems, process piping, tool installation, subcontractor management, and complex industrial construction environments, along with the ability to successfully coordinate owners, design teams, field staff, and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.
The position is located in Ballston Spa, NY.
This position offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities while collaborating with highly technical project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
* Lead all aspects of project planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
* Manage multiple stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders.
Safety Leadership
* Promote and champion an injury-free jobsite culture.
* Lead by example and reinforce company safety standards through active participation and mentoring.
* Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions and retraining programs as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and project-specific requirements.
Preconstruction & Procurement
* Support preconstruction activities including:
* Quantity takeoffs
* Scope development and review
* Trade coordination
* Bid package development
* Bid solicitation and analysis
* Schedule development
* Lead project buyout activities and subcontractor procurement.
* Evaluate bids for scope completeness, pricing accuracy, and overall value.
* Conduct gap analyses and manage subcontract issuance and execution.
Subcontractor & Trade Management
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and trade partners.
* Manage subcontractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Coordinate subcontractor schedules, deliverables, and contract compliance.
* Monitor subcontractor risk and work closely with risk management teams regarding bonding and qualification requirements.
MEP & Technical Systems Coordination
* Oversee construction activities involving:
* Mechanical systems
* Electrical systems
* Plumbing systems
* Process piping
* Tool installation
* Cleanroom infrastructure
* Coordinate technical scopes between contractors, engineers, equipment vendors, and end users.
* Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings.
Schedule Management
* Partner with the Project Superintendent to develop and maintain master project schedules.
* Utilize Lean Construction principles to optimize project delivery.
* Monitor critical path activities and proactively identify schedule risks.
* Develop mitigation plans to address labor shortages, material delays, weather impacts, and scope changes.
Financial Management
* Participate in project budgeting and cost planning.
* Prepare and manage monthly cost forecasts, project financial reports, and profitability analyses.
* Monitor project costs and identify potential budget variances.
* Support development and management of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts.
* Ensure financial performance aligns with project goals and company objectives.
Change Management
* Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and contract modifications.
* Obtain subcontractor pricing and schedule impacts for proposed changes.
* Prepare change request proposals and secure approvals from owners and design teams.
* Maintain detailed project documentation and records.
Submittals & Document Control
* Establish and manage project submittal schedules.
* Review and approve shop drawings, product data, and material samples.
* Ensure approved submittals are distributed and incorporated into project execution plans.
* Maintain complete and accurate project documentation.
Meetings & Communication
* Lead project reviews, progress meetings, Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, and stakeholder coordination sessions.
* Communicate project status, financial performance, schedule updates, and risk items to internal and external stakeholders.
* Deliver professional presentations and executive-level project updates.
Risk Management
* Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
* Monitor subcontractor performance, contract compliance, and potential exposure.
