Job Role s and Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.

Review contract documents, plans, specifications, and bid requirements.

Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete project scopes.

Analyze project risks, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.

Prepare competitive bids that align with project specifications.

Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers during preconstruction and project turnover.

Track submitted bids and evaluate bid results for continuous improvement.

Mentor Project Engineers and assist with estimating best practices.

Participate in project planning and support smooth transition from estimating to construction.

Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

Prior estimating experience in heavy civil construction.

Field experience in civil construction preferred.

Strong ability to interpret contracts, plans, specifications, and construction documents.

Experience estimating wastewater treatment plants, water treatment facilities, underground utilities, structural concrete, bridges, pump stations, or DOT infrastructure projects.

Strong quantity takeoff and cost estimating skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience mentoring junior engineers or estimators is preferred.

Valid driver's license preferred.

Civil Engineering or Construction Management education is a plus.
