Job Overview
We have 2 part‑time vacancies available. One post is for 25 hours per week and one post is for 36.25 hours per week. Preferences can be discussed are looking for a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic room leader to join our friendly team.
The candidate must have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education and a good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS. A passion for childcare and a commitment to children’s safety, well‑being and development are essential. An upbeat and positive personality and a desire to be part of a strong team in order to provide an enabling environment where all children can play, learn and develop is required.
The ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with parents is also needed.
- Day‑to‑day responsibility for the smooth running of the room, ensuring that staff are deployed appropriately and that their planning reflects each child’s needs, and overseeing and supporting staff in recording children’s observations and term‑ly reports on Childcare Connect in accordance with the EYFS curriculum.
- Ensure the effective implementation of key‑person procedures within the room and carry out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
- Support and supervise room staff, including apprentices and students, with their day‑to‑day duties.

PersonSpecification
Qualifications:
- Level 3 or above in Childcare.
Desirable qualifications:
- Willingness to undertake further studies to attain a higher relevant qualification.
- Basic Food Hygiene, current paediatric first aid certificate and safeguarding.
- Current paediatric first aid certificate.
- Safeguarding.
Experience:
- Previous post‑qualifying experience working with babies/children 0–48 months in a day nursery setting.
- Previous experience of leading a team or being the lead person.
Desirable experience:
- Supervising students.
- Safeguarding.
- Ofsted inspections.
Knowledge:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Understanding of Ofsted requirements.
Desirable knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of the ages and stages of development for babies/children 0–48 months.
