Vehicle Installation Electrician

Due to continued success, Wrightbus are currently recruiting for Vehicle Installation Electricians.

Hours of work: 4 day week

Monday to Thursday 07:00‑17:00 (38 hours per week)

• Responsible for compliance with the company’s health and safety policy and procedures, ensuring workshop policies are adhered to.
• Ensure that work carried out is to the Wrightbus agreed quality standard and that all quality sign‑offs and procedures are complied with.
• Install the vehicle electrical control system to the specification requirements as detailed by the relevant documentation.
• Install and modify vehicle wiring harnesses and components as detailed in the contract build documentation.
• Terminate various automotive and high‑voltage connections up to 800V AC or DC.
• Test and commission the vehicle electrical system as per Quality Assurance documentation.
• Fault‑find and repair the vehicle electrical system using bespoke diagnostic software.
• Ensure the installation is completed within the allocated process time.
• Be prepared to work overtime when requested by management.
• Undertake any training or retraining associated with the post, or introduction of new working practices or engineering changes, including training of others.

• Demonstrate capability to work on systems up to 600V AC or DC.
• Capable of reading wiring diagrams.
• Demonstrate experience of routing and connecting various cable types.
• Demonstrate basic fault‑finding techniques.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Willing to undertake or provide training as required.
• Awareness of general Health and Safety rules.
• Proven ability to be flexible, working overtime and changing shift patterns as required.
• Time served automotive, domestic or industrial electrician.
