About you
  • Proven experience as a professional mechanic, ideally within a fleet or plant maintenance environment
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle inspection, servicing, and repairs
  • Skilled in diagnostic techniques including computer-based diagnostics
  • Ability to assess bodywork issues and advise on repairs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanics
  • A valid driving licence suitable for working within a fleet environment
What you'll do
  • Thoroughly examine and inspect vehicles and equipment, reporting findings and making recommendations
  • Service, repair, and prepare vehicles for PSV/MOT testing in accordance with safety regulations
  • Conduct routine repairs and major services on grounds maintenance equipment
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and recommend improvements to enhance safety and reliability
  • Assess and carry out bodywork repairs where necessary
  • Recover broken-down vehicles using safe, proper techniques to minimise further damage
  • Fabricate simple component parts as needed using appropriate tools and materials
  • Ensure parts are correctly identified to enable timely ordering, reducing operational downtime
