Senior Grants Accountant

Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking a Senior Grants Accountant.

Responsibilities:

* Support cleanup, reconciliation, and migration of historical accounting data from spreadsheets into an ERP system

* Validate and ensure accuracy of financial data, including debits, credits, and account coding

* Reconcile balances between legacy records and system data to ensure accuracy and completeness

* Input, adjust, and align financial transactions within the ERP system

* Work through accounting activity on a periodic (e.g., monthly) basis to ensure proper close and reporting

* Ensure all financial data is audit-ready and properly documented

* Assist with grant or project-based accounting, including large and complex funding streams

* Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity

* Support system alignment efforts, including integration with related tools and platforms

* Identify and resolve data inconsistencies to support accurate financial reporting
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

* Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial data cleanup

* Strong understanding of debits/credits and account reconciliation processes

* Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct or similar)

* Advanced Excel skills with experience managing and analyzing large datasets

* Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy

* Ability to work independently and manage timelines in a deadline-driven environment

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

* Experience with grant, fund, or project-based accounting

* Exposure to ERP implementations, migrations, or system clean-up efforts

* Experience with financial system integrations or tools (e.g., AP automation platforms)
