We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join a growing real estate organization. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of properties and will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Yardi and a solid background in property management accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial, residential, and/or mixed-use properties
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity
- Review and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Maintain and ensure data integrity within Yardi
- Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and lease-related accounting entries
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Support external audits and tax preparation
- Collaborate with property managers and leadership on financial performance
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years of property accounting experience required
- Yardi experience required (Voyager preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease analysis preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience with mixed-use portfolios (commercial, residential, retail)
- Exposure to budgeting/forecasting processes
- Prior experience mentoring or overseeing junior staff
