Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join a growing real estate organization. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of properties and will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Yardi and a solid background in property management accounting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial, residential, and/or mixed-use properties
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity
  • Review and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Maintain and ensure data integrity within Yardi
  • Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and lease-related accounting entries
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Support external audits and tax preparation
  • Collaborate with property managers and leadership on financial performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years of property accounting experience required
  • Yardi experience required (Voyager preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease analysis preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with mixed-use portfolios (commercial, residential, retail)
  • Exposure to budgeting/forecasting processes
  • Prior experience mentoring or overseeing junior staff
