SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
This position will support the areas of general accounting, budgets, account reconciliations, standard and adjusting journal entries, variance analysis, payroll analysis, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and audit. The ideal candidate for this role will have solid experience with US GAAP accounting principles, clear communication skills, be a team player, have the ability to maintain confidentiality, and be detail oriented.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions.
- Process payroll
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Research and analyze P&L budget to actual and year over year variances; analyze P&L trends.
- Provide financial analysis and interpretation to management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency in financial operations.
- Address inquiries and provide explanations regarding financial matters.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting.
- Responsible for generating and distributing client invoices; monitoring and collecting payments; processing and recording transactions; maintaining account statuses; researching and resolving account discrepancies; reconciliation of client invoicing to service provider time records; and reconciliation of client balances to supporting detail records, cash receipts activity, and accounts receivable aging
- Reconcile daily labor reporting and timesheet capture ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist with budget preparation.
- Participate in external audits, including timely preparation and organization of audit schedules, work papers, and various reports.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; expert-level proficiency with Excel.
- Ability to establish priorities, work to strict deadlines, and to deal with shifting and competing priorities.
