- Our client, a small and growing company in Baltimore, is seeking a General Ledger/Tax Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a close-knit environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident in their tax skills, willing to ask questions, and capable of taking ownership after a short training period.

- Hands-on exposure to corporate, state, and local tax functions, as well as estate tax and investment accounting

- Prepare Individual (1040), Trust (1041), Partnership (1065), and Corporate (1120) returns
- Support K-1 generation and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Review 1099s, investment statements, and categorize income appropriately
- Analyze financial data for tax implications and assist with planning
- Reconcile general ledger tax accounts and support month/quarter-end processes
- Create adjusting journals
- Maintain organized tax records, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Support external audits and respond to notices as needed
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure accurate, timely filings
- Support ongoing reorganization and post-consolidation modernization
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- 3+ years' accounting experience
- Ability to understand tax forms and categorize financial information
- General ledger experience, estate tax, and/or investment accounting exposure a plus
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess, Great Plains, or similar software preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small, team-focused environment and wear multiple hats
Office located in Baltimore, MD (21209). Company offers hybrid flexibility after training
Salary: $85,000-$95,000
