The Senior Accountant supports the organization’s accounting and financial operations, assisting with general accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks across accounting, payroll, and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with month‑end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and monitor balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support inventory processes, including tracking, periodic counts, and related reporting.
- Prepare and maintain schedules and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external auditors and respond to audit‑related requests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Support preparation and maintenance of documentation required for regulatory or customer audits.
- Assist with cost accounting activities, including tracking direct and indirect costs and supporting cost allocation methodologies.
- Participate in internal reviews to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Assist with payroll processing and related administrative or HR functions as needed.
- Provide general financial, administrative, and operational support across the organization.
- Perform ad‑hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting or financial experience.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting systems and ERP platforms preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and related systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with government contracting environments is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or similar regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with cost accounting concepts, including indirect rates and standard costing, preferred.
- Ability to interpret and apply financial regulations and compliance standards.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
