Our client is seeking a Senior Gov Con Billing Analyst to support all aspects of government contract invoicing and accounts receivable activities. This individual will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate invoices, monitoring funding and contract modifications, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and applicable federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with Deltek Costpoint, government contract billing, and various contract types including CPFF, T&M, FFP, and hybrid arrangements.
Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and submit customer invoices in accordance with contract terms and FAR requirements.
- Process billings for Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Time & Materials (T&M), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and hybrid contracts.
- Maintain billing schedules and ensure invoices are submitted accurately and on time.
- Monitor project funding, contract modifications, and ceiling limitations to prevent overbilling.
- Reconcile billed costs to project financial data and investigate variances.
- Partner with Program Managers, Contracts, and Project Accounting teams to resolve billing issues and ensure contract compliance.
- Process adjustments, credit memos, and invoice corrections as necessary.
- Support collections efforts by researching outstanding balances and resolving customer inquiries.
- Perform contract closeout activities and prepare final invoices.
- Utilize government billing portals including WAWF, IPP, PIEE, and Pay.gov as applicable.
- Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and provide billing metrics to management.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including DCAA requests.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
- Mentor junior billing personnel and serve as a subject matter expert for billing processes and Costpoint functionality.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of government contract full‑cycle billing experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Deltek Costpoint required.
- Experience billing CPFF, T&M, FFP, IDIQ, and task order‑based contracts.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DCAA requirements.
- Experience with government invoicing portals such as WAWF/PIEE and IPP preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Experience supporting contract closeouts and indirect rate adjustments.
- Familiarity with Deltek Cognos reporting.
- Exposure to project setup, revenue recognition, and project accounting processes.
- Experience in a mid‑sized or large government contractor environment.
- Ability to identify process improvements and automate manual billing activities.
