- CFS is partnering with a well respected non profit organization in Baltimore City to hire an Accounting Manager to join their small finance team. This is a strong opportunity for an Accounting Manager who enjoys hands-on fund accounting, and working closely with leadership in a structured, mission-driven environment.
- The Accounting Manager will serve as a lead accounting resource, bringing strong hands-on experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations, and grant accounting, while supporting broader finance team priorities as needed.

- Opportunity for an Accounting Manager to own complex accounting and grant activities
- Prepare and post general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and lead month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation of financials across multiple entities
- Produce and review accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets. Consolidate and interpret financial data received from third-party accounting team
- Manage and track grant funding, ensuring strict compliance with donor restrictions; lead cost allocations and prepare detailed, funder-specific financial reports
- Oversee accounts payable (invoice processing, vendor payments, expense tracking) and accounts receivable, ensuring strong cash flow management
- Lead audit support efforts, coordinate external audits, and ensure compliance with nonprofit tax requirements, including IRS Form 990 and applicable federal/state regulations
- Support payroll processing and ongoing cash flow management activities
- Apply advanced accounting knowledge, including experience with bond draws and complex funding structures
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years' accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or government setting
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting and grant management preferred
- Financial statements reporting and preparation experience required
- Experience using Net Suite a plus but not required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work independently
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
