Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This role supports a broad range of accounting operations, including reconciliations, reporting, audit preparation, banking activity, and fund-related transactions across multiple business areas. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and a proven ability to manage detailed financial data accurately in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee accounting activities including reconciliations and reporting.

- Review and validate monthly close reports, support internal audit inquiries, and prepare year-end schedules.

- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support schedules.

- Support banking operations by approving electronic payments, assisting with wire and ACH activity, communicating with banking contacts.

- Assist with special projects, complex reconciliations, and troubleshooting issues affecting financial reports and management reporting outputs.

Requirements

- 3+ years of accounting experience in a senior-level or progressive accounting role.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.

- Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.

- Background in bank reconciliations, ACH or wire activity, and other cash management.

- Experience preparing audit support, year-end reporting, and monthly financial reporting packages.

- Knowledge of fixed assets, prepaid expense accounting, and investment-related entries.

- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and payroll tax deposits.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy.
