Controller

A growing professional services organization is seeking a talented Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This role will partner closely with senior leadership, including executive management and an external finance advisor, to support financial reporting, operational performance, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll coordination, billing, and general ledger
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reporting packages

Project Accounting & Performance Analysis

• Monitor project financial performance, including utilization, WIP, and profitability
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Help define and track key performance indicators (KPIs)

Financial Planning & Business Partnership

• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Support financial strategy and operational decision-making
• Collaborate across departments to improve financial visibility and performance

Audit, Compliance & External Coordination

• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banking partners, and insurance providers
• Oversee payroll, tax compliance, and benefits-related financial administration
• Ensure financial processes align with regulatory and reporting standards

Systems & Process Improvement

• Participate in system enhancements and reporting improvements
• Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting processes

Team Leadership

• Manage and develop accounting staff
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality
