A well-established, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the organization's financial management and reporting functions. This position is onsite (5 Days/Week).

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 base salary

Controller Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting operations and monthly close process
• Prepare and review account reconciliations
• Assist with financial reporting and financial statement preparation
• Participate in budgeting and department budget reviews
• Manage grant and restricted fund accounting
• Work closely with leadership on financial planning and analysis
• Supervise two accounting team members
• Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments across the organization

Controller Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Nonprofit and/or education industry experience strongly preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with grants, restricted funds, or endowments is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Process improvement and automation experience highly desirable
• Exposure to Blackbaud, Veracross, or similar platforms is a plus
