Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Who Staffing is looking for a Controller for a fulltime, direct hire opportunity with our client in Baltimore, MD.

Amazing opportunity to work for a dynamic fifth-generation Baltimore based construction organization that takes care of its employees and offers real opportunities for growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will manage a small team and handle the preparation and analysis of monthly reporting packages. The right candidate will have the ability to learn from the CFO, a former partner in a public accounting firm, and could one day take over that role.

• Perform monthly general ledger accounting close-out including account reconciliations and G/L analysis.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly reporting packages.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and related journal entries.
• Weekly payroll reporting and oversight as well as monthly and quarterly payroll reports.
• Oversite and preparation of monthly customer invoicing.
• Oversite of Accounts Receivable.

• Following proper accounting procedures to accurately measure financial results.
• Flexibility, organization, and a high level of integrity.
• Accountability and transparency.
• Attention to details and timely deliverables.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager or related experience
• Sound knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft 365 suite.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Comfortable working in a construction company environment.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Values learning and personal/ professional development.
• Experience with construction related accounting and accounting software.
