We are a privately owned specialty manufacturer seeking an Accounting Sueprvisor or a highly experienced Senior Accountant to lead our small, close-knit accounting team. Our current ERP is Sage 100, but we do plan to upgrade to a more capable ERP platform withing the next 3-5 years. This is a company that greatly values its employees and considers each associate a part of its extended family, with key employees having been with the company for many years.
There is significant potential for advancement and promotion within the department and the organization, all the way up the ladder to CFO. Salary is flexible and negotiable, depending upon qualifications and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of and working experience with Sage 100 (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in job costing and cost allocation to jobs
- Working knowledge of inventory costing methods (e. g. FIFO, Weighted Average)
- Understands the components of inventory, including raw materials, work in process, and finished goods, as well as familiarity with bills of materials, subassemblies, and part numbers
- Able to formulate the allocation of manufacturing direct overhead as well as indirect overhead
- Effectively maintain all accounts within the general ledger: revenue, cost of goods, operating expenses, and balance sheet accounts
- Manage the Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure that bills contain the required supporting documentation and authorization, are entered in a timely manner, and are paid to vendors prior to the due date
- Reconcile bank and corporate credit card accounts
- Prepare and update balance sheet supporting schedules
- Assist with the monthly preparation of GAAP financial statements
- Streamline processes for greater accuracy, financial control, and efficiency
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation where possible
- 10+ years of general accounting work in a manufacturing environment
- BS/BA degree in accounting
- Experience managing and working with a small, close-knit team
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to perform efficiently and accurately in a dynamic environment
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- A high level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency
- Self-starter and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently, and to multi-task as necessary
- Assist the CFO and CEO with special projects and requests
- Consult with and support other departments as needed
