Summary Of PositionThis unique role offers a front-row seat to the dynamic world of city leadership, where you will contribute to the initiatives shaping Baltimore’s future while developing your own professional skills and connections.
Essential FunctionsThe Part-time Special Assistant will act as a trusted liaison between the Mayor’s Office of Cable of Communications (Charm TV) and a wide range of stakeholders, including city agencies, community organizations, and private sector leaders. You’ll work closely with the Director of Charm TV. While the role includes essential administrative tasks such as managing calendars, preparing documents, and coordinating meetings, it also provides a springboard for personal growth.
You’ll have opportunities to:
- Attend meetings with key players in neighborhoods.
- Assist with research and analytics.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Assist in coordinating city-wide productions to include special events, video and civic campaigns.
- Research and analyze topics related to media, digital strategy, community engagement, and economic development.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Director’s engagements.
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a point of contact for the Mayor’s Office of Cable & Communications/Charm TV.
- Support with community events, helping to elevate the overall experience.

Comfortable with clerical tasks while also seizing opportunities to grow and contribute creatively. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and some knowledge of television broadcast or creative industries.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- A passion for community media, production, community engagement and economic development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a knack for learning new tools.
