The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 4 (Baltimore County) is currently recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician III position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.

Nature of Work

The Shop Administrative Technician (SAT) will procure materials, parts, supplies, and services for the maintenance facility. This position will manage the receipt, storage, and disbursement of the same from the stock room at the maintenance facility. The incumbent will maintain working knowledge of FMIS—ADPICS VISA Procurement Program and Bradley Inventory System for procurement and inventory management. Additionally, the SAT will provide administrative/secretarial support to the Resident Maintenance Engineer, Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer, Team Leaders, and other employees assigned to the maintenance facility, manage all office functions and needs, and maintain working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures to provide guidance in personnel actions.

The role includes accurately preparing bi‑weekly time reports and maintaining knowledge of MAXIMO for accomplishment tracking, as well as FMIS‑R
* STARS for budget and expenditure tracking.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storage facility or warehouse. Must be able to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate computerized systems such as EPICS, BRADLEY, EORS, CCMS.
  • Ability to receive parts and supplies.
  • Ability to take physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to enter and retrieve data via personal computer.
Licenses & Certifications

Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in Maryland with no more than four (4) points.

Employee is considered essential and subject to 24‑hour callout and must be reachable by telephone, etc. (provided at employee's expense).
