Helping Up Mission, Inc. is a faith‑based, non‑denominational, Christian organization offering permanent solutions to those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Helping Up Mission, Inc. (HUM) provides hope through programs designed to meet their individual physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. Compassionate and substantial residential care is given to almost 550 men and 250 women in need, without consideration of race, economic or religious status at its campus in East Baltimore.

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance to Business Office staff. All services will be provided in a manner that adheres to the Core Values of the Mission.

Primary Duties

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Business Office Support Activities
  • Assist any Finance/Business Office staff members with administrative duties as requested.
  • Make copies of or scan items as requested.
  • Copy received donations for Office Manager as needed.
  • Prepare mailings as needed.
  • Maintain vendor or Business Office files and file items as needed.
  • Prepare files/labels for the new fiscal year and box old files for storage.
  • Assist in preparing obsolete files for destruction for all departments.
  • Assist in maintaining office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies; verify receipt of supplies and disburse as needed.
  • Assist in distribution of mail as needed.
  • Assist in Annual Audit as needed by pulling documents, filing away after use.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, analysis, and documents as requested.
  • Contact vendors for various issues.
  • Perform administrative functions such as copying, scanning and changing cartridges as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Exhibit the Core Values of Helping Up Mission, Inc.
  • Strong administrative, organizational and computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software as needed.
